Meet Julie
Writer and Artist
Julie Holland, also known as Mandy P Baker and Brady Pekman, (she/they) is a writer, performance artist, painter, and poet who lives, works and studies in Western Australia, and acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land, the Whadjuk people. Julie holds Bachelor of Arts in both Education and Fine Art, Masters in Feminism and is currently completing a Masters in Creative Writing at Edith Cowan University. A lifelong student, Julie is passionate about the Arts, preferring a multi-disciplinary approach in her practice, exploring how art and feminism interconnect. They prefer to experiment within multiple genres with the aim of showcasing the value and power of art within society. Julie’s work is in print in journals and she was shortlisted for the Ethel Webb Bundell Literary Awards. Julie was born in Leeds in the UK, but in 2006 made Perth her home. Julie is interested in drawing from both cultures, honouring the values of each.
